The Kastalsky Requiem Project, with Leonard Slatkin

Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armistice of World War I, The Clarion Choir joined forces with the Kansas City Chorale, The Chamber Choir of St. Tikhon’s Monastery, the Cathedral Choral Society (DC), and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s under the baton of Maestro Leonard Slatkin to premiere, tour, and record the orchestral edition of Alexandr Kastalsky’s epic Memory Eternal to the Fallen Heroes, which was completed in 1917. Premieres took place in Kansas City at the Kauffman Center on Saturday, October 13, 2018 and in Washington, DC, at Washington National Cathedral on Sunday, October 21, 2018.

The recording was released August 10, 2018 under the Naxos label. On December 7, 2018 the recording received a 2019 GRAMMY nomination for Best Choral Performance in the classical category.
